Filipe Chaves is a photographer, documentary filmmaker, and educator. He holds a PhD in Arts from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) and works in documentary photography and non-fiction filmmaking, investigating the relationships between image, memory, and archive.

With an interdisciplinary background in arts and sciences, he develops audiovisual projects and pedagogical practices based on listening, experimentation, and the collective construction of knowledge, understanding audiovisual media as a tool for dialogue, memory, and cultural democratization.
